Carpenter Box has Viral Success on TikTok with 1.5 Million Views
Technology
August 3, 2022 - Carpenter BoxThis is a thought leadership article from PrimeGlobal member firm Carpenter Box on how they successfully utilized the powers of digital marketing recently when they created a TikTok video to promote the business’ recruitment campaign to younger people. And it’s gone viral!
Got a success story to inspire others? Why not submit an article.

In just one week, the nine second clip, which started off by their own admission as a bit of an in-firm 'joke' has received over 1.5m views.
The video, which features the firm’s communications director Kira McKinney mouthing words from a scene in Disney Pixar’s Finding Dory and encouraging eight Carpenter Box employees to dance, has also received nearly 150,000 likes, almost 2,000 comments, and 1,000 shares, turning Kira and her team into a TikTok sensation!
The Power of Videography
Using video has rapidly become the de rigueur of digital marketing, and whilst well written content will always give readers more subject detail, video marketing is an excellent way to engage your target audience with powerful, short bursts of information.
Moreover, whereas the more traditional social media platforms will rank content based on the popularity of established influencers, TikTok is unique in that the discovery algorithm it uses allows every video uploaded an equal chance to go viral, regardless of how popular the content creator is.
Which means that virtually unlimited marketing opportunities are possible, through fast growth and rapid scaling of the content shared.
Why Using Social Media Keeps Your Firm Current
According to the Digital News Report almost 40% of social natives, (those aged between 18 - 24), prefer to get their news and information from digital platforms such as TikTok and Instagram, rather than the traditional news channels, and recruitment is no different.
And whilst traditional recruitment methods are still the preferred option for more experienced potential employees, if you are wanting to recruit trainees and graduates for fast track programs, using social media to promote your firm is clearly something that has to be considered to keep your firm current.
Furthermore, the figures are staggering. TikTok boasts over one billion active monthly users, and whilst it was once seen as simply a 'lip synching' channel for teenagers, it is now a respected social media channel, just like Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
Viewers enjoy the raw, unedited posts that connect and engage with audiences on a global scale.
So it seems that when Carpenter Box first had the idea to upload a video for a bit of fun which they based on a Roblox video, little did they know how successful the outcome would be, and because Carpenter Box actively recruits trainees into departments such as tax and business services, using TikTok as a digital marketing source may have proved a winner in this instance.

“We’re recruiting for trainees and wanted to show the fun side to our firm to attract potential applicants. We’ve successfully managed to raise the visibility of Carpenter Box amongst young people on our TikTok channel, and also promised our Managing Partner we will follow it up with some more sensible posts about accountancy.” Johnny Matthews, Digital Marketing Executive, Carpenter Box.
